In August 2003, Reading Body Works, Inc. assumed a new name - Reading Truck Body, Inc. Reading continues to sell its products through a network of independent distributors located throughout the world. Reading Truck Body acquired Crest Truck Equipment and became Reading Equipment & Distribution, Inc. They are a premier distributor for service bodies, dump bodies, snowplows, truck equipment and accessories in 5 locations.

In 2006, LLR Partner purchased Reading Truck Body and established the name of The Reading Group, LLC. Reading Fleet Services was established as a provider of complete product and logistic solutions to commercial fleets and major leasing companies, utilizing TRG facilities throughout the country. Several of these facilities include ship through capabilities for OEM chassis manufacturers.

In July 2008, The Reading Group launches their Go Green Initiative. The company's use of aluminum for many of its most popular products results in bodies with less weight that are more fuel efficient, while maintaining Reading's strict standards of durability as evidenced by a new corrosion and structural warranty.

The Reading Group purchased ABC America's Body Company in September 2008. ABC sells/distributes TRG manufactured products and other manufacturer's products. TRG manufactures Rugged American brand aluminum, FRP Dry Freight, Rugged American Landscape and Contractor Bodies, as well as Marauder Dump Bodies.
