Water Truck Tank Coatings
Some of these coatings are used for fule oil or other corrosive type chemicals. We use
the correct coating for the job - please let us know what your tank truck will be carrying.
FLOATCOAT the Klein Floatcoat is a highly effective, unique elastic rust preventive tank maintenance
coating. Floatcoat is a combination inorganic-complex, which forms a platelet crystalline structure
similar to "fish scale". The "fish scale" platelets are polar in nature and dense, tight coating to
provide an effective barrier to corrosion.
PLEXIBLACK the Klein Plexiblack interior coating provides lasting protection against the rust and
corrosion when used in a submerged environment. Plexiblack is an asphalt quick dry anti-oxidene
protective coating, when sprayed applied, forms a solid protective barrier against water penetration.
COLD APPLIED GALVANIZING Cold applied galvanizing is an 87% pure zinc rich coating that provides
maximum corrosion resistance through cathodic protection. All cold applied galvanizing are
sacrificial coatings, making it sacrifice itself instead of the steel, to rust and corrosion.
COAL TAR EPOXY Klein Coal Tar Epoxy is a two parts high solid amine converted epoxy and is a highly
effective protection against severe abrasion and strong chemicals in a submerged
environment (excluding potable). Coal Tar Epoxy dries to a smooth surface impervious to
penetration, and will rests cracking, chipping and peeling when applied properly.
9200 EPOXY COATING The 9200 system epoxy coating is a two-compartment polyamide-converted coating
that delivers maximum protection against abrasion.

Water Truck Discharge Locations
Rear water Discharge
Rear water spray bar with 2 heads each being 4-way adjustable spray heads on a 4,000 gallon truck tank. Each spray head is individually cab controlled.
Side Jet streams are typically narrow 5’ to 10’ in width, with 35’ to 45’ outreach per side and 35’ in height.
Front bumper street flusher spray bar and spray heads shown mounted on articulated chassis.
Flusher heads are designed to provide a narrow, directed band of water to move the
debris on roads, also shown is a remote stand pipe turret monitor.
Front bumper
4-way adjustable flat fan spray heads. Flat fan spray heads are
primarily used for dust control. The spray pattern typically is 35’ out from the
head and 75’ to 90’ wide with 2 heads.
Mid-Ship (FLUSHER) Spray Bars
Mid-ship street flushers are used for cleaning streets with a heavy saturation
of water under pressure and velocity.Mid-ships are located on the side of the
vehicles usually between the front and ahead of the rear tires.
Side mid ship sprays with 360 degree swivel flusher heads, chassis can be
equipped with heads left and right.
Gravity Spray Bars
Full 8’ gravity spray bar with swing a-way 2’ extension ends. The above gravity
spray bar is under pump pressure using penetrating nozzles to saturate under the
soil surface.
Full Width 4" slotted gravity feed spray bar, the slotting of the spray bar is
to provide heavy saturation for a given area, Slot widths may vary depending
on the flow requirements.
Tree Watering Arms
The Klein tree watering bar extensions are brake-a-way PVC. Tree watering bars are
air, vacuum or water pressure controlled, and can be mounted on the right,
left or both sides of the chassis. All Klein gravity spray bars have end clean outs.
Water Tank Turrets Monitors
There are 3 basic types of turret monitors:
Manual Controlled
Remote Controlled: Remote controlled turret monitors have two options for the cab controls:
straight aircontrolled or electric over air controlled
Hydraulic Controlled: Hydraulic Turrets are all electric over hydraulic controlled.
All turrets are manufactured in 2 1/2", 3" and 4" inlet sizes.
Water Pumps
PTO (Power Take Off)
PTO Driven Pump System utilizes the truck transmission via a PTO and drive shaft to power the
water pump. A normal PTO outlet is normally only recommended to produce 30HP output therefore
the pump size must fall below 30HP, this would be a 4 x 3 (4" suction inlet and 3" discharge
outlet) 900 G.P.M. pump.
Hydraulic driven:
Hydraulic driven pump systems, there are two types of these systems, 1st is a transmission
driven PTO Hydraulic pump group, and 2nd is a front of engine direct drive Hydraulic pump
group. In each of these types of hydraulic groups there are three different types of pumping
systems.
Transmission Driven:
Transmission PTO hydraulic pump system. This group should be geared to a 30 HP pumping
system. The hydraulic pump is directly mounted to the transmission PTO with
no exposed moving parts. This type of pump drive is the most common, and is the least
expensive of all the hydraulic driven systems.
Engine Driven:
Front of engine direct drive hydraulic system. In this system the hydraulic pump is driven
off the engine damper pulley via a drive shaft this drive shaft can either directly connected
to the hydraulic pump, thus requiring the pump to self contained with an internal spool valve
(most common) or connected through an electric clutch thus also providing the ability to turn
the system off.
