The FORD PTO provides direct engine power for accessory equipment without the
expense and installation time of separate, independently mounted electric
motors or other power sources.
Transmission Power Takeoff (PTO) Provision
The standard equipment 6-speed manual transmission comes with an integrated
Ford PTO - Power Takeoff Provision while the optional 4-speed and 5-speed automatic
transmissions can be equipped with an integrated Power Takeoff (PTO) Provision
by specifying option code 62R.
The PTO Optioin and its controlling computer provides engine speeds of 910 to 2400 rpm for 5.4L and 6.8L gas engines, and
1200 to 2400 rpm for the 6.0L diesel engine. It also automatically locks the torque
converter providing power to the PTO gear for the TorqShift automatic transmission
when the operator turns on the PTO switch.
